The ‘A’ side of New Zealand are touring South Africa to take part in a 3 Match Unofficial One Day Series and 2 Match Unofficial 4 Day Test Series, starting on the 30th of August.
The Tour will begin with the One Day Matches and 4 Day games will be played after One Dayers are finished. The 2nd and the Final Unofficial 4 Day Test Match will be played from the 14th of September, 2025.
Two venues have been finalized for the Tour of take place. They are:
1. Tshwane University of Technology Oval, Pretoria
2. Senwes Park, Potchefstroom
The 3 One Day Matches are scheduled to be played at the LC de Villiers Oval, Pretoria while the 1st Unofficial 4 Day Match will be played at Senwes Park, Potchefstroom and the 2nd Unofficial 4 Day Match will be played at the LC de Villiers Oval, Pretoria.
New Zealand A are led by Joe Carter for both the formats. He will be captaining a strong side that features International stars like Zakary Foulkes, Mitchell Hay, Ben Lister and Muhammad Abbas.
The New Zealand A team have several future superstars with players in form like Curtis Heaphy, Muhammad Abbas and Rhys Mariu. New Zealand A team are expected to give a tough competition to the South Africa A team in the upcoming matches.
South Africa A team on the other hand are led by the experienced Marques Ackermann for both the formats. They have superstars in their team including Gerald Coetzee, Jordan Hermann, Jason Smith, Kwena Maphaka and Nqaba Peter. Codi Yusuf and Zubayr Hamza have only been selected for the Unofficial 4 Day Matches.
South Africa A are certainly looking good on paper and they are expected to have a good success in their home conditions.
Considering the strength in the squads of both teams, the Tour is expected to be highly entertaining and thrilling.
