The Malayalam film Marco, starring Unni Mukundan and directed by Haneef Adeni, continues to perform well at the box office. However, the absence of actor Riyaz Khan, despite earlier reports indicating his involvement, has sparked a debate on social media.
In a recent interview with Can Channel Media, Riyaz Khan opened up about the situation, revealing that scenes he filmed for ‘Marco’ were ultimately not included in the final version of the film. He shared his disappointment about being excluded from a film that is currently being widely discussed.

“During the shooting of ‘Marco,’ Unni Mukundan and I shot a reel titled ‘Adichu keri vaa,’ which garnered good attention. From the video, you can tell that Unni and I shared a strong camaraderie. But the version of ‘Marco’ that I saw is different from the one the audience has seen,” Riyaz said.
He explained that both he and Unni had significant portions filmed in a different makeover, noting that it wasn’t the typical black-on-black suited look. Instead, Unni had a unique style, but none of that made it to the final cut. “My scenes were part of that portion,” he added.
Riyaz further revealed that director Haneef Adeni personally called him to explain that the exclusion was not intentional. “I accepted it as the director’s decision, and that’s fine. However, as an actor, I am disappointed. Being excluded from a hit film is upsetting. I am part of a film that is being discussed worldwide, yet I am not seen in it,” Riyaz shared.
Despite the setback, Riyaz emphasized that it wasn’t a personal issue and that Unni Mukundan was equally excited about the scenes. “Unni called me and said, ‘Ikka, let’s do this. In this portion, it’s just the two of us, no one else.’ We had an intense fight scene together. No one tries to hinder anyone’s growth; it’s all about circumstances,” he concluded.
