Steam’s latest sale event began last week. The Summer Sale includes too many discounts to count, from basically getting Disco Elysium for free when bundled with Zero Parades: For Dead Spies to a 70% markdown for CD Projekt Red’s Cyberpunk 2077.
Newer games get in on the action too, as some of 2026’s best games have their deepest discounts yet. Here are a few of our favorite games from the year that you’ll find discounted during Steam’s Summer Sale.
1
Mio: Memories in Orbit
While January can sometimes be a slow month for new video game releases, this year it had a handful of standout new titles, the best of which was Mio: Memories in Orbit. It’s a gorgeous Metroidvania that is equal parts breathtaking to look at and exciting to play. You control an android grappling, wall-jumping, and fighting against tough enemies (and even tougher bosses) throughout a mysterious spaceship. “[Mio] is committed to the act of exploration to a surgical degree. To survive its ship full of rogue machines is to become a digital cadaver of a gorgeously intricate digital world,” Polygon wrote in its review. It’s on sale for 25% off at $14.99.
2
Mewgenics
The Binding of Isaac developer Edmund McMillen is back this year with Mewgenics, which is exactly what you would expect from a game with that title — its main mechanic is breeding “the ultimate cat army,” according to its Steam description. You’ll send them out on Roguelike runs full of turn-based battles. Your cats can be outfitted with collars that turn them into specific classes, like a Fighter or Mage, and each class has 75 abilities to test out. “It’s a true feat for a game to walk the line between juvenile and complex, and Mewgenics does it deftly,” our Mewgenics review said. You can grab it for 25% off at $22.49 and get plenty of bang for your buck; Mewgenics teases (threatens?) a 200-hour main campaign.

Dragon Quest 7 Reimagined
Dragon Quest 7 is one of the best RPGs ever, and a new generation of players can experience it with the 2026 remake. Dragon Quest 7 Reimagined takes the 2D sprites and environments of the original game and, well, reimagines them in a 3D world with diorama-like visuals. Both its battles and story have been streamlined, speeding up the action and trimming the fat that makes the original game a bloated (while still great!) adventure. “Dragon Quest 7 Reimagined is a faithful, gorgeously polished remake that serves longtime fans and offers a perfect entry point into the franchise for newcomers,” our review said. Grab it on sale for $44.99, or 25% off.
Also on sale from the cream of 2026’s crop are Resident Evil Requiem ($55.99, 20% off), Marathon ($27.99, 30% off), Esoteric Ebb ($19.99, 20% off), Titanium Court ($11.99, 20% off), and more.
