It’s safe to say that players are digging WoW Forever – over eight million characters were created in the beta alone – and with the actual, full release coming this week, the dev team has released a giant list of changes coming to the MMO. The tweaks cast a rather large net, with every race and class getting some love.
The fine details of WoW Forever aren’t the only thing on the docket, either, as controller support has officially entered a “complete functional state”, and players will be able to use it for “all major gameplay and core user interface experiences… including movement, spells, interactions, UI navigation, etc.”
WoW Forever, to me, has a more relaxed feeling than pretty much any MMO I’ve played, so the idea of sitting back with a controller instead of my mouse and keyboard setup is rather appealing – tackling tough raids in other games has previously required me to sprout extra fingers, and I’d appreciate not having to do that again.
As well as controller support, every class has had a refresh, and plenty of bugs have been squashed, including an instance where Huey Sunnydale’s legs continually failed to render. The human death sounds have also been adjusted, which is quite nice on a personal level since I hear them quite a lot.
The full patch notes can be found here and are well worth a read if you’re going to jump on at launch. The Wow Forever release date is 4 November at 3pm PST / 11pm GMT, so there’s still a little bit of time to scroll through the changes to your Paladin before you have to smite whatever it is that happens to be in front of you.
