STILLWATER, OKLA (KOKH) — The Oklahoma State University Police Department is investigating following an early morning shooting at a campus residential hall.
The Stillwater Police Department says they responded to McDonald’s, 110 E. McElroy, regarding a report of a gunshot victim, and it was determined the shooting occurred at Carreker East Residential Hall, an OSU dorm.
Stillwater Police and OSU Police located the dorm and began investigating, learning there were three victims, one of them an OSU student.
Police Chief Michael Beckner said in a press conference that all victims are stable, and two remain in the hospital.
The suspect or suspects have not been caught, Beckner said.
No shots were fired inside the hall, and the shooting occurred in the parking lot.
Police believe there was a large, off-campus private party. After that party broke up, some of the people from that party returned to Carreker East Residential Hall, where the shooting happened following a disagreement between several people, according to Beckner.
Officers from OSU PD, Stillwater PD, and the Oklahoma State Bureau of Investigation (OSBI) are on the scene investigating as of Sunday morning. They ask everyone who does not live in Carreker East Hall to avoid the area.
OSU Police say there is no ongoing threat, as it was an isolated incident, but want anyone with information to contact them at 405-744-6523. You can also chat live with dispatchers using the Rave Guardian App.
