Genshin Impact‘s “Luna 2” (or 6.1) patch is coming soon, continuing the story in Nod-Krai, and even adding a full user-created mini-game mode.
Below, we explain when Genshin Impact maintenance starts and ends, alongside the release time of version “Luna 2.” We’ve also added some details about what to expect from Genshin Impact patch “Luna 2.”
What time does Genshin Impact go down for maintenance?
Genshin Impact will go down for maintenance on Tuesday, Oct. 21 or Wednesday, Oct. 22 (depending on your time zone) at the following times and will be unavailable for approximately seven hours, which is two hours longer than usual:
- 3 p.m. PDT on Tuesday, Oct. 21 for the west coast of North America
- 6 p.m. EDT on Tuesday, Oct. 21 for the east coast of North America
- 7 p.m. BRT on Tuesday, Oct. 21 for Brazil
- 11 p.m. BST on Tuesday, Oct. 21 for the U.K.
- 12 a.m. CEST on Wednesday, Oct. 22 for western Europe
- 7 a.m. JST on Wednesday, Oct. 22 for Japan
- 9 a.m. AEDT on Wednesday, Oct. 22 for Australia
Make sure to burn your resin before maintenance starts, if you wanted to, but keep in mind that the new battle pass will start when the new patch drops, so you can hold on to some of it to clear your weeklies.
What time does Genshin Impact version ‘Luna 2’ start?
Genshin Impact should come back from maintenance with the “Luna 2” version at the following times. Again, note that this maintenance is longer than usual, so the game will come up later than usual.
- 10 p.m. PDT on Tuesday, Oct. 21 for the west coast of North America
- 1 a.m. EDT on Wednesday, Oct. 22 for the east coast of North America
- 2 a.m. BRT on Wednesday, Oct. 22 for Brazil
- 6 a.m. BST on Wednesday, Oct. 22 for the U.K.
- 7 a.m. CEST on Wednesday, Oct. 22 for western Europe

The servers may come up early or late, depending on how maintenance goes, but these are the approximate times “Luna 2” should go live. Usually Hoyoverse is pretty good by abiding by maintenance times. We don’t usually get extended maintenance, but it does end early most of the time!
What’s new in Genshin Impact version ‘Luna 2?’
This patch will continue the story in Nod Krai, and the trailer showed off the kit for the Dendro catalyst character Nefer, as well as a look at Varka — though Varka won’t be playable in this version. There’ll also be a Sumeru-themed event where you can explore ruins and claim a free copy of the four-star character, Collei.
This update also will include the long-teased “Miliastra Wonderland,” which allows players to design their own characters and play mini-games on user-created stages with friends.
