The huge open-world capers of GTA are a tantalizing experience for nearly anyone; a world in which you can get up to anything you like, whether that’s pulling off the heist of the century, or simply following the speed limit and ensuring you always signal before a turn. The content of Grand Theft Auto 6 will no doubt be a pull for many, but a question that players have is: will GTA 6 be on Steam?
We now have an official GTA 6 release date, and the extended look trailer, which premiered on Netflix, has given us the first look at GTA 6 in action. However, that extended look didn’t say anything new about the platforms the Rockstar game is going to be playable on.
Will GTA 6 be available on Steam?
GTA 6 has been confirmed to be available on next-gen consoles at launch, but it hasn’t yet been announced for PC, so it won’t be available on Steam right away.
GTA games don’t usually launch on PC, but it’s likely we’ll get a PC port at some point, like the other games in the series. It’s also likely that GTA 6 will come to Steam when it’s available on PC. At its original release date, GTA 5 wasn’t available on PC at all. In fact, it didn’t come to the platform until a whole 19 months after its console release. If the PC release was 19 months after, and Rockstar bought it to Steam, rather than another PC platform like Epic Games Store, or their own solution, then our best guess would be June 2028 – but that’s wild speculation.
