Brilliant goals in the past few weeks have made a lot of football fans sit up and take notice at the evolution of Macarthur FC under first time coach Mile Sterjovski.

Leading the charge is Jed Drew, who scored another double in the 3-2 win over Western Sydney on the weekend.

But the young winger with speed to burn isn’t the only one demanding attention from the A-League football aficionados.

Ariath Piol’s goal against the Wanderers, off a solo run that left defenders grasping for air, was also a real beauty.

But Drew’s second, and the team’s third, was so outrageous it deserves top honour.

It was also another solo effort, but the brilliance was in the tight angle Drew had to work with when he pulled the trigger.

But his bullet shot went arrow straight past the keeper and into the back of the net.

You almost had to catch your breath with that goal, which would not be out of place in the EPL.

The Bulls seem to have found this wicked combination of experience and youthful exuberance, which is getting better every week.

It would not surprise one bit if they went on and won the whole thing this season.

Macarthur is now in third spot on the ladder after 11 matches, one point behind second placed Melbourne Victory and five behind league leaders Auckland.

Recent history shows that teams that finish first or second have the best chance of both making the grand final and winning the title.

The Bulls are certainly on the way to finishing high up on the ladder, especially if they continue to strive for consistency of performance.

Tonight, they will host Adelaide United at Campbelltown Stadium, in front of their growing army of fans.

The South Australians are in fifth spot with the same number of points as the Bulls, so they will be a big threat, even away from home.

The match will kick off at 7pm.
