Public and private sector banks across the Union Territory of Jammu and Kashmir will remain closed on March 27 and 28 in observance of key religious events marking the conclusion of Ramadan.
March 27 will see the observance of Shab-e-Qadr, also known as the ‘Night of Power,’ a significant occasion in Islamic tradition. As per beliefs, it was on this night that Islam’s holy book Quran was first sent from heaven to the world. The occasion is marked with special prayers and religious gatherings
Banks across Jammu and Kashmir will also remain closed on Mar. 28, Jumat-ul-Vida, the last Friday of Ramadan.
Meanwhile, Eid-ul-Fitr, which marks the end of Ramadan, will be celebrated on Monday, Mar. 31 this year.
