Neymar Will Return To Santos
Neymar Junior has chosen to return to his first professional club; Santos. The superstar is ready to return to Brazil in what will be a massive coup for the club and Brazilian football in general.
Turning 33 in early February of 2025, Neymar will return to Santos for the 2025 Brasileirão season and hope to guide his national team to success next year at the FIFA 2026 World Cup.
Neymar Injury Woe
The incredibly talented forward has been plagued with injuries for a large part of his career and last year was no different as he suffered with his ACL following an injury in late 2023. In 2024, Neymar only made two appearances for Saudi club Al-Hilal, playing a grand total of 42 minutes, and yet he still earned over $100 million in salary.

Now, the boy who was born in the state of São Paulo, is returning home. According to Fabrizio Romano the play-maker will cut short his stay and contract in Saudi Arabia in the coming days to return to the Brazilian side ahead of the rest of the São Paulo state league.
Santos Legacy
Neymar made a global impact while at Santos, gaining notoriety at a young age for fantastic goals and thrilling performances. 200 goal contributions for the club earned him a move to FC Barcelona and shot him to stardom with the Brazilian national team.
Neymar won a Brazilian Cup and a historic Copa Libertadores title with Santos during his first spell at the club, as well as three Paulista state titles. Santos faced their first regulation in their 111 year history little over a year ago, but in 2024 they finished top of the second division and will now hope to bounce back with their returned chosen one back in the top flight. What glory might he bring to Santos in the future?

A Dream Come True For Santos
A verbal agreement has been reached but Neymar is still yet to put pen to paper on a deal that would ignite global interest in Brazilian football once more. Rumours swirled about him joining ex-teammates Lionel Messi and Luis Suárez at Inter Miami of the MLS but it appears that Neymar has gone with his heart on this one, after topping up the bank balance in Saudi Arabia.
Many South American fans dream that their heroes will return to play for their previous clubs one day, whether they be wild or reasonable. Sometimes players do come back, but all too late, and after their European tour they fail to make an impact at home.
If Neymar can stay fit, then this will be different. At just 33, Neymar is returning a few years before most, and of course plays in a different stratosphere to other top footballers. He was a generational talent and he hasn’t lost his touch. If the stars do align on this move then expect him to dazzle in Brazil once again, just like he did at Santos over a decade ago, as a teenager that proved to be the next big thing in international football.
