Each new Dreamlight Valley update adds new characters, features, and quests to the life sim, and the roster of Dreamlight Valley residents has expanded so much already – and shows no signs of slowing down. Its vibrant community makes it even better, especially with more multiplayer functions being added, and a paid DLC brings even more biomes and residents to your valley if you want them. Even if you don’t want to splash out on paid content, there are still plenty of new Dreamlight Valley recipes, characters, realms, and more added to the base game regularly, so here’s everything we know about the next free Dreamlight Valley update.
Next Dreamlight Valley update
The next Dreamlight Valley update release date is in “early 2025”. Based on previous updates, the arrival of Princess Jasmine and Aladdin could be on either Wednesday, February 26 or Wednesday, March 5, 2025.
In October, Gameloft revealed a new roadmap for 2025, hinting at the next few characters to come starting in early 2025. The first of those is clearly the arrival of Princess Jasmine and Aladdin, based on the iconic characters’ headband and fez shown in the roadmap image. This is accompanied by the text “Explore a new world”. The usual three-month wait between updates would put their arrival in March, but we might see the next Dreamlight Valley update even sooner since there are three updates scheduled between now and Summer 2025.
Another reason to believe the update could be just around the corner is that the current Star Path, Frost and Fairies, ended on February 5, 2025. There is downtime following each Star Path, with the current period set to end on February 26, 2025.
The following updates for the first half of 2025 feature Alice in Wonderland characters, as suggested by a disappearing Cheshire Cat shown in the roadmap. There are a whole host of other Dreamlight Valley characters this update could include, including Alice herself. While playing cards are a running theme in Wonderland, a hint on the Dreamlight Valley X (formerly Twitter) account suggests we may also see the Mad Hatter or Queen of Hearts. For Summer 2025, an update we’re incredibly excited about as Skull Rock residents from Peter Pan finally move in.

- April 5, 2023: Update 4, Pride of the Valley, adds a The Lion King realm, in which a story unravels starring Simba and Nala – and a lot of Hyenas. There’s also a new surprise when you increase your friendship with Buzz.

- December 6, 2023: Update 2, Missions in Uncharted Space lets you unlock Stitch in Dreamlight Valley, and Toy Story characters Buzz and Woody.
- October 19, 2023: Scar’s Kingdom adds Dreamlight Valley Scar quests to the Disney game, revealing the new Mines, and new resources.
