Apple chief executive officer (CEO) Tim Cook has teased a product launch, likely introducing the MacBook Air with the M4 chip and the iPad Air with the M3 chip. On Monday, under a terse post on social media platform X that said “This week”, Cook shared a short video.

This will be Apple’s second product launch in 2025 after the iPhone 16e, the most affordable model in the iPhone 16 series. The company is expected to introduce an upgraded MacBook Air lineup, possibly discontinuing the MacBook Air M2.Although the MacBook Air is expected to be the highlight, Bloomberg’s Mark Gurman indicated in his weekly newsletter that Apple may also announce a new iPad Air alongside it. The iPad Air M3 is also expected to replace the current iPad Air M2.

Reports suggest the MacBook Air M4 will feature:

Growfast

  • Higher RAM capacity: Support for up to 32GB of RAM, up from 24GB.
  • Performance boost: Two additional CPU cores and improved memory bandwidth.
  • Better camera: A 12MP Center Stage camera for video calls.
  • Improved display support: Ability to run two external displays while using the built-in screen.

The phrase “There’s something in the Air” dates back to the 2008 launch of the first MacBook Air, adding a nostalgic element to Apple’s announcement.
